Bill and Heath

On a bright sunny day in beautiful downtown Asheville, Bill Clinton spoke from the heart, giving democratic followers an extra boost just days before the election. President Clinton truly loves people and he truly loves America. His words rang strong and his message was very clear about the future of our great country. He spoke of college education, bringing jobs to America, and "Pay as you go." He spoke of the surplus we once had, before the Bush administration lead us to two wars. Overall President Clinton reminded democratic officials and supporters to stay strong and to stay the course.  The democratic vision is for the people of our great country and their well being. It is about education for everyone, it is about creating trusting relationships with the world. It is about seeing past individual wealth and seeing the collective future of all Americans. If you have not already voted, please take thirty minutes out of your day, and exercise your right to vote.

Michael Franti @ Orange Peel

Michael Franti and Spearhead really showed some serious class when they performed a free show in the parking lot of the Orange Peel just hours before their sold out show tonight. Michael simply posted on his facebook page that he would be doing an acoustic set, but when the time came and hundreds of fans showed up, the full band was there and everyone was plugged-in. Several kids were sitting in front of the stage and everyone hand their hands in the air. I love you! I love you! I loooove you!

Springtime Reptiles

This little guy was ready to pose. He actually came at my camera a couple of times but he was way to fast and I was too jumpy to get a clean shot.

Barnyard Guitars - Wabi Sabi Artist Rusty Douglas

Wabi-sabi is an ancient Asian art form/philosophy which advocates a naturally occuring, organically arising process i.e. one that evolves over time, as compared to a pre-fab, uniform, synthetic, commercial condition. Wabi-sabi philosophy states that all things arise from nothingness and return to nothingness, via wear, decay, use, etc. wabi-sabi clothing, for instance would be soft, faded, and comfortable as compared to stiff, synthetic and uncomfortable. Things wabi-sabi tend to be asymetrical, irregular and varigated therefore more readily blending with the natural order of things. Commercially mass produced, identical products are the anti-thesis of the wabi-sabi aesthetic. Things wabi-sabi tend to embody strong individual characteristics and attributes.

The Law

Sometimes it is better not to be the opposition. This WFU grad eats nails for breakfast! Great shoot though! Long, Warren, Parker, and Associates are always wonderful to work with.

Liz Wright

This photo was taken at the Orange Peel during an incredible performance by Liz Wright. The crowd was perfectly still and Liz's voice was like pure velvet.
